About Us

Cape Cheetah Conservation

Cheetah Conservation is a leading wildlife conservation initiative dedicated to protecting and preserving the Western Cape’s endangered cheetah population. Located in the Tankwa Karoo oasis, at Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve, this conservation effort not only safeguards these majestic big cats but also promotes education and awareness about their plight. Visitors have the unique opportunity to witness cheetahs up close while learning about the challenges they face in the wild. By supporting this conservation, you’re playing a part in ensuring the survival of one of Africa’s most iconic predators.

The Cheetah Run Initiative

Forming part of Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve and the Animal Rescue Centre’s (ARC) rehabilitation programme, the cheetahs partake in daily exercises and ‘hunting simulations’ designed to teach captive-bred cheetahs to chase prey, develop the necessary skills to steer their bodies at high speeds, and exercise their ability to run full speed after a moving target.
